About this event:

• Join Jared Bistrong of the Miami Sound Institute for a 6-week introduction to hand drumming program. This program focuses on the basics of drumming, particularly the Djembe drum, and explores various aspects of percussion instruments. The class aims to help participants develop a powerful cultivation practice around drumming for personal meditation and wellness. The curriculum covers the history of different drums and percussion instruments, specific techniques and exercises, and traditional/non-traditional rhythms from around the world. Participants will also learn drumming etiquette. No prior experience is necessary, but participants must bring their own hand drum. Upon completion, attendees can continue with discounted drop-in rates.

Duration: 6 Week

Ticket Information: 

• Beginner: Join the rolling 6-session program. After completing the 6-pack, the drop-in rate is reduced.
• Experienced Drummer: Single-session drop-in tickets available.

Workout Session Details:

• Frequency: Mondays, 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

• Content: Basics of drumming, Djembe drum focus, percussion instrument exploration, history, techniques, rhythms, drumming etiquette.

• A drum (Participants need to bring their own; Jared can assist in finding/purchasing one)
