About this event:
- Join Jared Bistrong for a 6-week introduction to hand drumming program at the Modern ŌM Bungalow. This program explores the basics of drumming, with a focus on the Djembe drum, and covers various aspects of percussion instruments. The class aims to develop a powerful cultivation practice around drumming, promoting personal meditation and wellness. Participants will learn the history of different drums, specific techniques, exercises, and traditional/non-traditional rhythms from around the world. Drumming etiquette will also be covered. No prior experience is necessary, but participants must bring their own hand drum. Jared can assist in finding and purchasing drums. Upon completing the program, participants can continue with discounted drop-in rates.

- Weekly Schedule: Mondays, 6:30 – 7:30 pm
- Instructor: Jared Bistrong, director of Miami Sound Institute & The South Beach Sound Healing Orchestra
- Content: Basics of hand drumming, Djembe drum focus, percussion instrument exploration, rhythm learning, drumming etiquette.
Essentials to Bring:
- A hand drum (Participants need to bring their own drum. Jared can provide sample drums for the first class and assist in finding a drum.)
Parking Options:
- Metered parking alongside the streets of Upper Buena Vista on NE 2nd Avenue and NE 50th Terrace.
- Do NOT park in residential zones – towing is enforced.
