Event Type

“The Veil” Masquerade is a mystical, ceremonial event held on the sacred night of October 31st at the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, where the boundary between our world and the spiritual realm becomes its thinnest. Rooted in ancient Celtic Samhain traditions, this masquerade honors ancestors, offering protection from malevolent spirits while celebrating the spiritual connection with the afterlife.

Samhain, celebrated as the end of the harvest season and the dawn of winter, was believed to blur the line between the living and the dead, with spirits walking among us. In modern times, this tradition has evolved into Halloween, but “The Veil” draws on its deeper, sacred meaning. The ceremony allows participants to step into this realm through a night of spiritual connection, masked symbolism, and enchanting performances.

Participants at “The Veil” will engage in a candlelight ceremony to honor ancestors and protect their energies. The temple will serve as a sacred space where you can leave offerings or light candles for those who have passed, paying homage to loved ones who have transitioned to the afterlife. The masks worn during this celebration symbolize the everyday “costumes” of flesh concealing the divine essence within each of us.

Musically, “The Veil” will feature an eclectic mix of live classical orchestral performances, organ and piano pieces, and a DJ set. These musical acts will guide attendees through an otherworldly journey of dance and reflection, elevating the spiritual energy as the night progresses.

Schedule:

  • 8:00 pm: Doors Open
  • 8:30 pm: Opening Ceremony
  • 9:00 pm: The Veiled Classical Orchestra & Candlelight Ceremony
  • 9:15 pm: DJ Kaheal & The Veiled Classical Orchestra
  • 11:00 pm: Integration Circle

In the Temple of Remembrance, guests can light candles for their ancestors, bring photos or offerings in memory of those who have passed, and experience a personal connection to the spiritual realm. Upon entering the temple, masks are mandatory, and Venetian masks will be available for those who need one, though self-chosen masks for self-expression are encouraged.

The night will be a profound experience of magic, mysticism, and music—a celebration of life, death, and the eternal spirit that binds us all.
