Kut-Sür: Arctic Siberian Ceremony with Snow Raven

The Kut-Sür ceremony, led by Snow Raven, offers an immersive and transformative journey through the Arctic Siberian tradition. Snow Raven, a musical and spiritual guide from the Sakha Republic, weaves her ancient songs with the sounds of birds and animals to lead participants through the three realms of existence in Sakha belief: the Upper (gods and deities), the Middle (humans, animals, plants), and the Lower (negative aspects of life). This ceremonial experience, deeply rooted in Aiyy, the Sakha faith, helps individuals reconnect with their soul, “Kut,” through the vibration and energy of life, known as “Sür.”

The human soul in Sakha tradition is believed to have three parts:

  • Iie Kut (Mother Soul)
  • Buor Kut (Earth Soul)
  • Salgyn Kut (Air Soul)

When these elements are in harmony, one experiences well-being, but an imbalance can lead to illness. In this sacred ceremony, Snow Raven will guide participants in restoring this balance, using traditional Sakha music and movement to support healing and connection.

Ceremony Structure:

  1. Salgyn Kut (Air Soul) – Inward Journey
The ceremony begins with an exploration of the inner self. Guided by sound, participants will travel within, encountering their emotions, thoughts, and hidden parts of their psyche. This phase encourages introspection, peeling back the layers of one’s being to reveal true inner landscapes.
  2. Iie Kut (Mother Soul) – Ancestral Connection
In this phase, the journey turns outward toward the ancestral realm. Participants are invited to reconnect with primal instincts and the sounds of nature, revisiting the metaphoric womb of creation. Snow Raven leads them through a cathartic release, opening pathways to their genetic heritage and deep-seated ancestral wisdom. This section focuses on healing through the sounds of birds, animals, and traditional Sakha singing.
  3. Buor Kut (Earth Soul) – Grounding and Integration
The final stage brings participants back into their bodies and the physical world, grounded in the Earth. Through breathing exercises, dance, and group chanting, the insights and healing from the earlier phases are integrated. This phase helps participants translate their inner discoveries into practical actions, creating space for empowerment and self-awareness.
