Demystifying Dental Trends: Free CE Course on Mainstream Dental Fads

Calling all dental hygienists! Join the South Florida Dental Hygiene Association (SFDHA) for an informative and FREE continuing education (CE) course: Mainstream Dental Fads.

What are Dental Fads? These are trendy oral health practices that gain popularity quickly but may lack scientific backing or even be harmful. Examples include charcoal whitening, oil pulling, DIY braces, and non-FDA approved whitening products.

This hybrid CE course (in-person and virtual option) will equip you to:

  • Understand the history and cultural context behind dental fads.
  • Evaluate the science (or lack thereof) behind popular trends.
  • Recognize potential risks and consequences associated with these fads.
  • Develop strategies for educating your patients about making informed choices.
