Help Keep Our Oceans Healthy: Volunteer at the Monthly Beach Cleanup!
Calling all ocean enthusiasts and eco-warriors! Lend a helping hand on the first Saturday of every month and join the dedicated volunteers at Homestead Bayfront Park & Herbert Hoover Marina. Together, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our coastal park pristine and protecting the delicate ocean ecosystem.
Make a Difference, One Piece of Trash at a Time:
- Root Out Microplastics and Trash: Your efforts will focus on removing harmful microplastics and general litter from the park’s grounds. By doing so, you’ll be directly contributing to a healthier environment for marine life and the surrounding ecosystem.
- Adapting to Needs: Be prepared to tackle various tasks as needed to ensure a thorough cleanup. Your flexibility will be key in keeping the park looking its best.
Open to All Ages (with a Twist):
This volunteering opportunity welcomes everyone who shares a passion for protecting our oceans. However, if you’re under 15 years old, we kindly ask that a parent or guardian join you for the day.
Be Prepared for a Rewarding Day:
- Punctuality is Key: Arrive at your designated start time and check in with park staff to ensure a smooth start to the cleanup.
- Gear Up for Success: Don’t forget to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Closed-toed shoes are essential for navigating the park terrain safely. Miami sun can be unforgiving, so pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the rays. If you have your own work gloves, bringing them along will be a big help.
- Tracking Your Contribution: If you require community service hour documentation, simply let the park staff know after the event. They’ll be happy to email you a confirmation letter upon request.
By volunteering at the Homestead Bayfront Park & Herbert Hoover Marina cleanup, you’ll do far more than just pick up trash. You’ll be actively safeguarding the health of our oceans, one piece of plastic at a time. Join the movement, make a difference, and experience the satisfaction of working towards a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
