This American Red Cross Instructor Course is designed to prepare candidates to teach basic-level First Aid, CPR, and AED courses. Prerequisites
To participate in this course, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher) certification or equivalent.
- Be at least 16 years of age by the final day of the course.
Course Structure
This is a blended-learning program, combining online coursework, a pre-course skills session, and in-person classroom training. To ensure a seamless experience:
- Online Content: Must be completed before attending the classroom portion. Participants should keep an eye on their email for important instructions regarding the online segment and their registration details.
- Classroom Session: The in-person portion will be held in a meeting room, where candidates will engage in hands-on learning.
Timely arrival is critical, as the course schedule is strictly followed.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Class sizes are limited to ensure optimal instruction, and we rely on student commitment upon registration. Cancellation fees are subject to the following terms:
- 14+ Days Before Class: 95% refund
- 10-13 Days Before Class: 75% refund
- 7-9 Days Before Class: 50% refund
- 4-6 Days Before Class: 25% refund
- 0-3 Days Before Class: No refund
Important: If you register 4-14 days prior to the class start date and need to cancel, you may request a 95% refund within 24 hours of registration. After 24 hours, the standard cancellation policy applies. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made 0-3 days prior to the class or for no-shows. Additionally, rescheduling is not permitted for cancellations within 14 days of the class.
If Cambridge Bay Health cancels the class due to low enrollment, remaining students can choose between a 100% refund or applying their funds toward a future course. Students who have already dropped the class will receive refunds based on the timeline outlined above. For any other cancellation reason, students are eligible for a full refund.
