Cory Bryant has spent over two decades immersed in the practices of yoga and Buddhism, oscillating between the two until he realized that they need not be seen as opposing forces. Instead, these profound traditions, rich in history and philosophy, can harmoniously coexist. For the past ten years, Cory has embraced their integration, and he is eager to share this journey with others during a special weekend workshop.

This engaging workshop invites participants to explore the common ground between yoga and Buddhism through lectures, discussions, and practice. Drawing from the teachings of renowned figures such as Patanjali, the Buddha, and contemporary masters like Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, Joseph Goldstein, Richard Freeman, and Lama Willa Blythe Baker, Cory will guide attendees in discovering the interconnectedness of these practices. The weekend will also feature guided meditations lasting between three and thirty minutes, allowing ample time for group discussions and mutual support.

Workshop Schedule:

Saturday
1–4 PM: Session 1: Yoga & Buddhism: Common Ground
In this opening session, participants will delve into the teachings of the Buddha and Patanjali, emphasizing their shared elements, including their tantric roots. Cory will introduce the principles of tantra and discuss how these can enhance one’s practice. The day will conclude with a 30-minute guided meditation focused on open awareness, interspersed with a 15-minute break.

Sunday
1–4 PM: Session 2: From the Mat to the Cushion
The second session will explore the transition from physical practice (asana) to meditation (cushion). Often viewed as separate, Cory will demonstrate how these practices can be integrated to deepen meditation through movement. This session may include gentle sun salutations, so participants should bring their mats. A 15-minute break will also be included.

Meditations will be woven throughout both sessions, providing valuable opportunities for introspection.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available upon request.
