Stem Cells and IV Therapy: 2 Innovative Approaches to Anti-Aging

Stem Cell

The human being is always looking for miracles, among them, a way to stop (or to slow down) the natural decay of our bodies due to age. Precisely, one of the miraculous elements that scientists found decades ago and have studied non-stop are stem cells and IV therapy.

Every day more and more people are interested in cutting-edge medical technology to reverse aging and preserve health. Good eating, sleeping, being active, and managing stress are some of the pillars of a good life, but they are not magic.

In recent years, stem cell therapy has gained attention for its potential anti-ageing benefits and impact on restoring health. Miami, known for its vibrant wellness industry, has seen a rise in the number of clinics that offer stem cell treatments and IV therapies. No wonder “the magic city” is the place a lot of people come to find the spell that slows down their biological clock.

But first things first. Let me explain what are stem cells and IV therapies, and why are they so promising.

What are IV Therapies?

IV stands for Intravenous therapy and is a medical treatment in which fluids, medications, or other substances are delivered directly into a patient’s bloodstream through a vein. IV therapy is typically administered through an IV catheter, which is a thin, flexible tube that is inserted into a vein in the patient’s arm, hand, or wrist. One of the key uses of IV therapy is to combat dehydration, a condition with symptoms such as fatigue, headache, and dark urine.

Since the supplements your body is missing go directly to your veins, experts allege rejuvenating IV therapy can make you glow and help you feel restored more efficiently than pills. However, it is not without risks. Possible side effects of IV therapy include infection, inflammation, vein irritation or damage, and allergic reactions.

It’s important to speak with a healthcare professional before undergoing any type of treatment and to carefully consider the risks and benefits of the treatment.

Anti-aging IV therapy combines potent age-defying antioxidants, glutathione, and vitamin C, with B vitamins, and other crucial nutrients to boost the health of your skin and body. The best thing about this method is that is completely customizable with add-on treatments to improve your results.

Components of IV Anti-Aging Drip

Some of the components that make up the typical IV anti-ageing drip are:

  • Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+)

This little molecule is produced naturally in your body and is essential for vital biological activities like metabolism. But levels decrease with each passing year, accelerating the ageing process. And low NAD+ levels can cause problems like brain fog, lost eyesight, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, or diabetes. On IV therapies, experts recommend using it combined with exercise and a healthy diet to have optimal results and feel like you’ve discovered the fountain of youth.

  • Vitamin B complex

This is a group of water-soluble vitamins that play important roles in many bodily functions. The B vitamins include thiamin (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), biotin (B7), folate (B9), and cobalamin (B12). They are important for nerve function, nourishing skin, eye care, digestion and hormone regulation among other things.

  • Vitamin C

Vitamin C enriches skin health by boosting collagen formation, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and gives your skin a firmer, younger appearance overall. Collagen also promotes strong, healthy hair growth.

  • Glutathione

This is the body’s master antioxidant, and it is essential for cleaning out pollutants, maintaining wellness, and looking younger. Glutathione levels also reduce with age, so a beauty drip to supplement your body’s sustenance can minimize the effects of environmental damage and give your skin the extra support it needs to look its best.

  • Zinc

Zinc is a powerful mineral that guards the cells involved in the production of collagen, the skin’s support system, by reducing free radicals. Zinc protects and heals your skin and helps you avoid acne flare-ups by boosting your immune system and reducing inflammation. Zinc’s therapeutic properties also can strengthen fragile hair and nails.

What are Stem Cells?

Now, let´s talk about stem cells.  Those are your body’s raw materials from which all other cells with specialized functions are created. Basically, those cells have not yet “decided” what type of adult cell they will be, and they can self-renew, make two new types of stem cells, and differentiate to make multiple types of cells.

To this day, science hasn´t been able to explain the mechanism that regulates the balance between these types of divisions to ensure that an appropriate number of stem cells is maintained within a given tissue. But that mysterious quality is their “magic” because, with that immense potential for transformation, stem cells seem to have infinite capabilities.

Just to have an idea, a recent study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, discovered that cell therapy, involving adult stem cells from bone marrow, has been shown to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in severe heart failure patients.

“A single administration of adult stem cells directly into an inflamed heart, through a catheter, could result in a long-term 58% reduced risk of heart attack or stroke among heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction, meaning they have a weakened heart muscle”, suggest the investigators.

That clinical trial is considered the largest one involving cell therapy to date in patients with heart failure, a serious condition that occurs when the heart can’t pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs.

Several other studies show that treatments using stem cells can play a crucial role in delaying the ageing process. A vast number of scientists have introduced “youthful” human stem cells into the body, rejuvenating existing cells and allowing the organism to age more gracefully & even reverse some effects of the ageing process.

However, it is important to note that many of these treatments are still in the experimental stages and conservative doctors argue that they have not been fully tested for safety and efficacy.

Conditions Benefitting from

But so far, some of the conditions that may benefit from stem cell treatment include:

  • Blood disorders, such as leukaemia and lymphoma
  • Genetic disorders, such as sickle cell anaemia and muscular dystrophy
  • Neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injury
  • Cardiovascular diseases, such as heart failure and coronary artery disease
  • Autoimmune disorders, such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis
  • Organ damage, such as liver and kidney damage
  • Tissue and bone repair, such as in orthopaedic injuries and surgeries

After learning all the benefits of stem cells and IV therapies, it is clear that the “wellness” industry is changing. Science is playing a more determinant role. And not only we will be seeing transcendental discoveries in the next years, but we will also have them incorporated into our lives.
