About this event:
- Join Jared Bistrong of the Miami Sound Institute for a 6-week introduction to hand drumming program. Participants will learn the basics of drumming, primarily focusing on playing the Djembe drum, and explore various aspects of percussion instruments. The class aims to cultivate a powerful practice around drumming for personal meditation and wellness, covering the history of drums, specific techniques, traditional and non-traditional rhythms, and drumming etiquette. No prior experience is necessary, but participants must bring their own hand drum.Upon completion of the program, participants can continue attending classes at a discounted drop-in rate of $35. Drop-ins are available for $50, with Modern ŌM Members paying $40 per drop-in.
